Selkie Tides

A selkie is a mythical creature from Irish folklore, a shapeshifter that lives as a seal in the sea but can shed its skin to become human on land however If someone steals or hides the skin, the selkie is forever trapped in human form.

This collection was heavily inspired by the the stunning beauty of Ireland's rugged sea landscape. Having spent a lot of time there with my dog - Lyra, my mind wanders and I think back to the folklore stories told to me as a little girl of these shy mythical beings, in particular the selkie.
